This rare piece of Clayton James sculpture just surfaced, and while the details of its discovery must remain a secret, this classic Clayton James ceramic has brought extraordinary delight to Clayton, pictured below, who recognized it immediately as the long lost “Oval Eye.” Clayton, now ninety-six years young, made the piece in the sixties, and says, modestly, “It’s a pretty darn good piece of work – maybe one of my very best!”
You can see this and more Clayton James work, here at the gallery, along with work by artists Ed Nordin, Mary Randlett, Allen Moe and Maggie Wilder.
